Tuning into life's metaphors

Well, as one would suspect from my frequency of posting, the real world has been taking a rather large chunk of my attention lately. Nothing particularly nasty, but rather a perfect storm of family activities, paperwork deadlines, and work stresses that have kept me far too distracted.

In the hopes of focusing my thoughts, and hopefully as a harbinger of good things to come, I've started collecting trivial but heartening moments snatched from the day's turmoil. Here are a few:

- The crocuses and daffodils are in full bloom, reminding us of why we put up with New England winters.

- Yesterday's brief rain (the first in over a month) ended at sunset with a beautiful full-semicircle primary rainbow, along with bits and pieces of a secondary. (Extra credit for the student - why are the colors in the secondary rainbow reversed, relative to the order they're seen in the primary?)

- And as for the Foxes, no sightings of late, but we've crossed fresh scent trails a few times.
